The Rwanda Red Cross volunteers have successfully planted 12,000 trees in Karongi District, as part of their environmental conservation and community engagement efforts. This initiative reflects the organization’s commitment to sustainable development and the protection of the environment, contributing to reforestation and the mitigation of environmental challenges like soil erosion and deforestation.
On December 13, 2024, in partnership with Karongi Distr, Rwanda Red Cross volunteers planted 12,000 trees, an activity that Mercy Laker, the head of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, recognized.
