Rwanda Red Cross youth was created and began its activities in March 2007. Putting up youth authorities aimed at allowing them to bring forward and advocate for their concerns. The youth section operates at all administrative levels from cell up to the national level. Each district sends two people to represent their interests in the general assembly. The general assembly elects three representatives, who together with one employee of the national society compose the Youth Board. The President and Vice-President are also granted seats in the governing national board of the RRC. Youth policy is oriented towards four components:

• Health and environment protection

• Community service

• Dissemination of Red Cross principles, and International Humanitarian Law.
